if the book has water marks, its going to be in the lower range. he can expect 3-8% of upper grades.

UPDATE: My friend took the comic to our local comic shop.

He offered him $900 on the spot.

He said he could probably ebay it for up to $1,400.

He offered to ebay it for him for 20% (he is already a reputable dealer on ebay).

He recommended that he get it graded ($79 investment) and sell it himself for as much as $2000 plus.

He then recommended waiting until the movie came out and selling it for 50-100% more than that.

Nice little find your friend had there.

I'd get it graded and wait until the movie comes out, but that is just me.

He's had it down out of site for this many years, another few months to increase the profit wouldn't be too much to deal with [img]wink.gif[/img]

I agree with -mega unless he is a comic collector. In which case he should just keep it. Regardless of the condition, a copy of Fantastic Four #1 is a pretty damn nice piece for any comic collection.

Either way though, I'd go through the process of getting it graded.
